In memory of Simon Evans AMM J.P. who entered into rest at "Lindale", Salem, on September 24 1911 in his 69th year. He was a grandson of captain AMM (whose ship the "Canada" brought out a party of the settlers of 1820) and of Richard GUSH, one of the Settlers; he was for 45 years a loyal and consistent member of this church; the originator of the "Harvest Home" in this circuit, and held the offices of circuit steward, superintendent of the Sunday school, etc. He was a devoted father, a loving husband and a sympathetic friend to Europeans and Natives.
