Cemetery information:- This cemetery lies just off the dirt road between Port Alfred and Grahamstown, adjacent to the Southwell school and near the shop, a few hundred metres from the entrance to the Sports Club. The church was built in 1870.

Field Cornet of Southwell who was killed in action near the Karraa by the rebel Hottentots of Theopolis 2 June 1861 aged 40 years. Also his wife Elizabeth who died 25 July 1886 in her 76th year.
