5. Mass grave for the children who died at the Burgersdorp Concentration Camp

Begraafplaas inligting:- Hierdie begraafplaas is baie histories. Dit lê aan die rand van die dorp, aan die voet van die berg. Die pad na die begraafplaas gaan deur 'n parkie, langs die rugbyveld verby. Tussen die rugbyveld en die begraafplaas gaan die pad deur, wat na die berg toe gaan. Ons het altyd daar met 'n kar gery tot op die helfte van die berg en dan verder geloop. Dit was die roete van die 1838 kakebeenwa, van die Voortrekkers. Die begraafplaas is baie verwaarloos. Die dennebome is groot en daar lê baie dik lae gedroogde dennenaalde op die grafte. Daar is ook baie skaduwees, wat soms nie duidelike foto's gee nie. Daar is ook baie gate en grafte wat ingeval is. Die gras is lank en die bye het ons behoorlik geklits. PROF. Dirk POSTMA - stigter van die Gereformeerde Kerk en die Teologiese skool se graf is daar asook van die ander POSTMA predikante. Daar is ook heelwat Engelse grafte en ook van onbekende soldate van die Britse Magte. Ons het die grootste gedeelte van hierdie begraafplaas afgeneem. Slegs die gedeelte aan die einde, waar die spruitjie loop, het ons nie gedoen nie. Die tyd was ook nie aan ons kant nie, en ons moes vir dit om die spruitjie gaan. Die grafte is ook baie verwaarloos.
