Cemetery information:- According to Adri van der Walt - whose family have lived in Boekenhoutskloof for more than 5 generations, and who literally knows every square inch of the old Erasmus and van der Walt farms, there are a few isolated unmarked graves situated roughly 700 metres southeast of the main ‘Erasmus’ cemetery. Adri’s father, the late Jan Adriaan II, told him that the graves belonged to earlier members of the Erasmus family. This information has been passed on orally from one generation to the next for the past 150 years. [The Erasmus and van der Walts’ families are related by marriage - Isabella Johanna Erasmus (h1) (*12-10.1880) married Jan Adriaan van der Walt (*19.09.1875) and they eventually had 12 children.] No written record of these graves has ever been found.
